.Wired is a monthly magazine founded by Louis Rosetto in 1993. When they were created, the primary focus was on technology. Nowadays, they still have a primary focus on technology, however they are split into seven different subgroups. These subgroups are Business, Culture, Design, Gear, Science, Security, and Transportation. Wired quickly became popular as it was immersed around the magazine world. After simply it's fourth year, it had been awarded two awards for general excellence and one for best design at the National Magazine Awards. Since then they have won many more of those awards, including a design award for three straight years, but in categories with other large magazines as their amount of subscribers increased.
